Joy Sun Bear Has Landed In Iran

Hello Friends! سلام دوستان

I’ve headed west and landed in the beautiful land of Persia, also known as Iran! Filled with ancient buildings, intricate geometric art, poetry, music, and some of the most exotic food in the world, Iran has much to offer an adventurous tourist like myself!

3/4J this is so exciting that we can learn about a country we have never spoken about. Joy Sun Bear has some pictures on his website to share, here are some examples. I also have a new colouring picture to share with you that the team at Joy Sun Bear would love to see when you have coloured in your work.

Salam friends! Wow! So happy to see you guys are learning a lot about Iran! 🙂

Dylan, the beef and chicken kabobs are my favorite, I love the sweet smell of the saffron and other spices. It is so tasty with the rice and tahdig! Yummy!

Makiala, I am glad you are learning the Persian language and can now say hello to others in a new language. My friend Ali told me that Salam actually comes from the word Salam Alaikom in Arabic, which means “may peace be with you.” So not only are you saying hello to someone, you are wishing them peace as well. Isn’t that great!

Sarah, Iran does have a lot of people, but the streets of Tehran are emptier this time of year for Nowruz because people are visiting other parts of the country. I am greatly enjoying all the shopping getting ready for the new year! You can watch some videos with Mrs. Joyce about how the city looks during this time of year.

Great job friends, keep up the good work!
