Opening sentence starter:

Here I am ………

Sample of expectation from students – Here I stagger across a rickety but wide bridge, leading my cautious family as we take our daily walk to school.

Following sentence starters

I see ………

Sample of expectation from students – I see jungle all around and the dangers of no sides to the bridge. As the leader I need to be careful not to take everyone the wrong way to place them in danger.

I feel ……..

Sample of expectation from students – I feel nervous, worried I will get us lost but I know this is not possible as we walk the distance each day without any concerns at all.

I wonder …….

Sample of expectation from students – I wonder will we ever get a school close by? Where we can wake up and walk out the door and see our classroom. I am tired from travelling everyday but I know education is more important than anything in the world.

I wish ……

Sample of expectation from students – I wish we had a bus or even easy access to get to school. I should not complain for there are many children worse off them we are. At least, we get to go to school.

Today …….

Sample of expectation from students – Today I hope for no rain. The day we face rain, we arrive at school wet, tired and exhaust. I can not imagine a normal school day would look like without this ling walk.

When students have finished they are to put their work together to make a written piece to place in their draft book.
